ARIZONA GUIDE 02
Required Auto Insurance & Minimum Limits in Arizona
Arizona requires financial responsibility for motor vehicles, ordinarily satisfied through liability insurance. The current minimum limits are $25,000 for bodily injury or death to one person, $50,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons in one accident, and $15,000 for property damage.
Minimum limits are only the floor
A serious-injury claim can exceed the statutory minimum quickly. Coverage analysis should therefore identify the actual policy limits, permissive-user protection, any other applicable liability policy, and umbrella or excess coverage rather than treating 25/50/15 as the available recovery.
- Confirm the vehicle owner and policy describing the vehicle.
- Determine whether the driver qualifies for liability protection under the policy and Arizona law.
- Obtain the complete policy and endorsements, not only the insurance card.
- Investigate employer, commercial, umbrella, excess and other available layers.
