KENTUCKY AUTO INSURANCE GUIDE

Required Auto Insurance, PIP/BRB & Minimum Limits in Kentucky

Kentucky’s Motor Vehicle Reparations Act generally requires liability coverage of at least $25,000 for bodily injury to one person, $50,000 for bodily injury to all persons in one accident, and $25,000 for property damage, or a qualifying $60,000 combined single limit. Required security also includes basic reparation benefits for covered non-motorcycle vehicles.

  • Basic reparation benefits provide up to $10,000 per person for covered economic loss from one accident.
  • Confirm whether any person has rejected Kentucky’s tort limitations and how that election affects BRB coverage.
  • Obtain the declarations page, BRB/PIP endorsements and UM/UIM coverage documents.
