WISCONSIN GUIDE 02
Required Auto Insurance & Minimum Limits in Wisconsin
Wisconsin’s motor-vehicle liability minimums are $25,000 for bodily injury or death to one person, $50,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons in one accident, and $10,000 for property damage. Wisconsin policies also require uninsured motorist coverage of at least $25,000/$50,000.
- Confirm the declarations page, covered vehicle and actual liability limits.
- Identify mandatory UM coverage, any accepted UIM coverage and any MedPay coverage.
- Investigate owner, household, employer, commercial, umbrella and excess coverage when supported by the facts.
- Do not assume statutory minimums represent the total insurance available after a serious crash.
