WASHINGTON GUIDE 02
Required Auto Insurance & Minimum Limits in Washington
Washington requires proof of financial responsibility for motor vehicles. The Washington master library identifies current minimum liability limits of $25,000 for bodily injury or death to one person, $50,000 for bodily injury or death to two or more persons in one accident, and $10,000 for property damage.
- Confirm the applicable liability policy and actual limits.
- Distinguish statutory minimums from all available insurance.
- Investigate vehicle-owner, employer, commercial, umbrella and excess coverage.
- Review current RCW 46.30.020 and RCW 46.29.090 before reliance.
