Nevada Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist Coverage
Nevada insurers must offer uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage subject to statutory selection and rejection rules. Coverage analysis should address insured status, limits, offsets, exclusions, settlement effects and subrogation.
- Obtain declarations, endorsements and UM/UIM selection or rejection documents.
- Identify every policy under which the injured person may qualify as an insured.
- Review liability settlements before executing releases.
- Apply current NRS 687B.145 and controlling Nevada authority.
