Idaho Rideshare & Transportation Network Coverage

Idaho rideshare insurance changes with app status. Under Idaho Code § 41-2519, a transportation-network driver who is logged in and available for ride requests but not engaged in a prearranged ride must have primary liability coverage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per incident and $25,000 for property damage. During a prearranged ride, the required primary liability coverage is at least $1 million for death, bodily injury and property damage.

  • Preserve app-status, trip, pickup and GPS records.
  • Obtain the driver’s personal policy and the transportation-network policy.
  • Review personal-policy exclusions and rideshare endorsements.
  • Confirm whether the driver, the TNC or both supplied the required primary coverage for the applicable phase.
