Claims against Mississippi governmental entities are governed by the Mississippi Tort Claims Act. Under Miss. Code § 11-46-11, a claimant generally must serve a notice of claim at least 90 days before filing suit. MTCA actions generally must be commenced within one year, subject to the statute’s tolling provisions after proper notice.
